As seems to be the usual case, we saw some nice clouds on Friday when we went to the grocery store. And, as usual, it was hard to get a good shot. This was what we saw when we walked out into the parking lot.
Or at least this is something like what we saw. I tried a panorama.
It was quite a sky. Too bad the pictures don’t really do it justice.
Beautiful skyscape there. Love the multi-layers of it.
That is clearly some sort of divine and/or monstrous giant otter thing.
The absolutely most fabulous sky Kali and I have every experienced in the East was in a car dealer’s parking lot one Friday evening about a year ago. We were picking out a new (used) Prius (after Kali had a wreck that totaled our previous Prius), and we were at the dealer’s lot. The sky blazed with the most incredible pink, purple, and fuchsia shades for about 15 minutes. I was antsy to finish the deal, but Kali just wanted to enjoy the light show. We’ve seen even more dramatic sunsets in the West, but this was the best in the East. Kali to this day calls it our Eastern Western sunset.
Robin — It was a very impressive display, if only we had been somewhere to get a really good, unobstructed view.
Ridger — Clouds can be real Rorschach tests, can’t they?
Scott — The West is the best place for sunsets. I suppose it’s because there is more dust in the air, which makes for redder skies.
