When I took the dogs outside for their morning walk around the house Monday, the sky was completely covered by waves.
It was like this from horizon to horizon. It was impossible to get the entire sky in the picture. I tried a panorama, but that didn’t work. By the time I took the dogs out for their long walk, the sky was almost entirely clear.
Love seeing the sky like that. So beautiful.
This image is especially for Robin Andrea! I wonder if they’re modified contrails?
Buttermilk sky! (Some call it ‘mackerel sky’.) Usually the fast-dying remnant of a front.
Robin — It was a treat. We haven’t had that many photo-worthy skies lately.
Scott — I think The Ridger is right, but I have seen contrails expand and develop into fairly extensive cloud cover.
Ridger — What was nice was that the entire sky was covered. And it was, indeed, fast dying.
