Our older cat, Doppler (a nickname for Doppelganger [because she had an identical twin when she was a stray outdoors], and not for the weather radar) has just recently taken to jumping up on the table every morning while Kali and I are having breakfast. Though she has a bit of interest in the milk in our bowls, she’s really more interested in our company. It’s become irritating, and she lets us know of her displeasure if we pick her up and deposit her on the floor.
Smokey likes company, too. He jumps up on the sofa to lie down between us sometimes. That way he can get pets from both of us. But when there’s milk, that’s what he’s interested in. The other cats will sometimes lap up some, but not like Smokey.
